Anchor House of Artists, November 2020
The materials for this mandala came from lovely walks on many beaches. I’m pretty sure that the starfish and the central stone came from Saint Simons Island, Georgia, a barrier island off the coast of South Georgia that we visit in the spring. The blue mussels are also from Saint Simons. The round clam like shells are from a beach in Salem, Massachusetts that I visited with my sister, Sheila. The white ridged shells are from Georgia. The scallop shells were found on a hike in Wellfleet, Massachusetts and the tiny whelk or snail shells are from Beverly. So many wonderful times by the sea!
