Bluebird Nest, pinecones, blue jay feathers, hydrangea blossoms, round stone

Anchor House of Artists, November 2020

This mandala started with a nest I got from Patti Steinman who works at Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary in Easthampton. The nest is almost exclusively made of pine straw and it is oddly square, formed by the walls of the bluebird box. The pinecones came from our back yard as did the blue jay feathers. I love finding the feathers and consider them missives from my bird friends. The hydrangea blossoms are from the back garden and the stone was found at the beach last summer.
